One of my favorite memories as a child, and certainly one that made the biggest imprint, was attending the county fair. I loved it when I was little and my parents bought me cotton candy and a corn dog. The sights and smells are as real to me now as they were then. As a teen the fair was this wide open place of independence from parental supervision. The place you went to see and be seen. And I loved it then just as much as I did was I was a child. And now, I still love it as much as I did as a teen.

Recently Beach Betty Creative nabbed the contract to provide the marketing and media outreach for the Santa Barbara County Fair and the Santa Maria Valley Strawberry Festival and I couldn’t be more stoked. Santa Maria Fairpark retains Beach Betty Creative to handle marketing efforts

The Santa Barbara County-based firm will coordinate media outreach, brand outreach and introduce fun social media campaigns for the Strawberry Festival and Santa Barbara County Fair

The Santa Maria Fairpark announced it has retained the services of Beach Betty Creative to handle its marketing and outreach campaigns for the Santa Maria Valley Strawberry Festival and the Santa Barbara County Fair.

Beach Betty Creative is a marketing company based on California’s Central Coast. The company has handled the marketing efforts of a variety of small to mid-sized businesses in the technology, lifestyle and green industries both in the U.S. and abroad.

Richard Persons, CEO of the Santa Maria Fairpark said Beach Betty Creative owner Shelly Cone’s combination of marketing experience and familiarity with Santa Barbara County and the fair’s market contributed to the decision.

“That Shelly is a native to the Santa Maria Valley and had a fondness for Fairpark events, along with her marketing experience gave her the ideal qualifications we wanted to help the Fairpark achieve its new strategy. She offers fresh and relevant ideas that will help us build a strong and consistent brand throughout the state and western region,” Persons said.

Beach Betty Creative founder Shelly Cone said she is excited to be collaborating with the Santa Maria Fairpark and promoting two events that she grew up attending.

“It’s always great to work with a subject that you have a passion for and as a child in Santa Maria, attending the Santa Barbara County Fair was a special event. Something I anxiously looked forward to each year. I’m excited to be a part of promoting these must-attend Santa Maria Valley events,” Cone said.

The Santa Maria Valley Strawberry Festival is set for April 24-26 and the Santa Barbara County Fair will follow July 15-19. This year’s fair will be bigger and better than ever with several new attractions to be announced in the coming weeks.
